Hobbies that keep my mind busy

Hello!
So first off, I want to say that all throughout high school and college I was always too busy to really have any crafty hobbies. In college I ran from class to work to class to the library, back to work, and so on. With 18 credits, three jobs, and extracurriculars there was really no time to get creative. SO, I didn't really find the creativity within myself until I graduated college with my two degrees and moved to California.
Everything slowed down a bit, in terms of responsibilities. I was able to just work and focus on myself a little bit more. Once I came to Cali I had a lot more time on my hands and so I dove a little deeper into things that I had always wanted to try. Some of the hobbies that I have now have really helped with hard times and have allowed me to pause in the moment and breathe. If you are looking for a relaxing hobby that helps keep your mind busy at the same time, try these:
Knitting/Crochet
Reading
Drawing
Yoga
Arts/Crafts
Make your own skin care products
Gardening
Hiking
Going on runs
Blogging/Journaling
Bike riding or roller skating by the beach

Become Inspired!
I believe that creativity is an essential part of life. We wouldn't be where we are today without the amazing minds of humans and our innovative outlooks on life! It's an outlet to freely express ourselves and to find who we truly are at the core.
It can take time to figure out what truly sets our souls on fire and THAT IS OKAY. Not everyone will find their niche right away. So what is it that ignites each and every one of us to go outside of our mundane every day lives to try something new? Maybe it's a bad day, maybe you met someone that became your muse, maybe it was a big life change, the sense of our own mortality, or maybe you just saw something on this vast electronically pulsed apparatus called the internet and thought, "huh, that looks cool! Why not!?" Whatever it is, it will come to you! And when it does you're going to love the freedom that you feel to just be with yourself, in your own space, enjoying the little things.
My Inspiration
To be honest, a few select people that I have come to know in California inspired me to become more creative and push past my normal every day routines. A friend has helped me with art, a significant other with music and teaching me more about how to not care about what others think, and another friend who has helped me learn that it's okay to not be okay. Music, specifically Lo-Fi (don't judge me haha), really helps to put me in a creative mood and just focus on whatever it is that I'm working on. Even the rain helps me, whenever the rain gods decide to bless Southern California that is.

Go out and try something new!
Ok, now that I'm done with my first post, go out and look for something that will tug at your creative mind strings! Don't just watch others, do it yourself! For yourself! One of my biggest fears is having regrets when I'm older, so it's better to at least try something that you've wanted to do while you can, before that option is no longer on the table.
I know this hobby post became a inspirational life post but sometimes they can go hand in hand! Good luck and take care! If you end up trying something new and end up loving it, let me know! I'd love to hear about it. :)
